Onoway Baptist Church is offering a hands-on ministry opportunity for a motivated student who wants to serve, grow, and make a real impact in a community setting. This flexible role is designed to help you explore your gifts while gaining meaningful experience in ministry, leadership, and community engagement.

What You’ll Do

​

Community Engagement & Events

• Help plan and support events like the Centennial Stars Talent Search and Onoway Soapbox Derby

• Assist with promotion, logistics, volunteer coordination, and on-site support

• Build positive connections between the church and the wider community

​

Children & Youth Ministry

• Assist with Children’s Day and Sports Camp

• Connect with youth through summer activities and events

• Build encouraging relationships with kids and families

 

Sunday & Church Life

• Support Sunday services (children’s ministry, hospitality, or worship areas)

• Serve alongside a team committed to gospel-centered ministry

 

Thrift Shop Outreach

• Assist with the Onoway Thrift Shop (organization, customer service, donations)

• Be part of a ministry focused on serving people with dignity and care

 

Leadership Exposure (Opportunity)

• Attend or observe community meetings and planning groups

• Gain insight into how churches and community partners work together

​

Who You Are

• Relational, approachable, and communicates well

• Organized, dependable, and willing to learn

• Comfortable working with youth, families, and volunteers

• Able to work independently and as part of a team

Assets (not required):

• Experience in ministry, camps, or community programs

• Interest in worship or leadership
